The collection
From resin to skin
Chapter I · The wood
When an aquilaria tree is hurt, it fills the heartwood with a dark, fragrant resin. That takes decades. We buy aged chips from two grower families in Assam and Cambodia, and only after we have burned a sliver of every lot.
Chapter II · The still
The soaked wood goes into our copper alembic in Beirut and stays there for three days and nights. Forty kilos of wood give about twelve millilitres of oud oil, which then rests in glass for a full year.
Chapter III · The skin
Saffron and pepper in the first minutes. Rose by the first hour. By evening it is only oud and amber, close to the skin, the way it should be worn: two sprays at the pulse points, nothing more.
